The Healing Art of Music

“I truly believe that sound-based rituals are a remedy for the times we live in.”

Creating Hope and Healing

As a music artist at the Integrative Psychology Institute Mollie Mendoza is supporting the benefits of sound-based rituals in mental health practices as it has become both a social trend and is based on scientific research.

It is no surprise that sound therapy has become increasingly used alongside other techniques like meditation, yoga and talk therapy.

By helping to provide a more holistic approach to mental health care, sound-based rituals can deliver meaningful results for those who are struggling with the challenges and chaos of our fast-paced world.

With her training in somatic movement and devotional arts, Mendoza has become widely known for her own unique style of music that incorporates these elements, which she has dubbed “Heart Songs.” This format combines ritualistic structure with ambient vocals and cacao ceremonies to help participants achieve a relaxed and meditative state that relieves stress and anxiety.

The accessibility of sound-based rituals also has played a big role in the movement’s rise. As a performing artist, Mendoza has made healing-focused music readily available through YouTube videos, live performances and more.
